I’m sure you have your own personal favourites but were going to do our best to list the funniest skits we’ve ever come across. Now we’ve seen so many funny moments on TV, movies and even on the net that it would literally take us months to remember them all. But what the hell, where going to do it anyway.

We’re going to take into consideration animation as well as TV and movies so it expands our search even further, DOH!

So where to start, well we’re start with some true comedy geniuses: Monty Python. Now obviously there are just so many funny moments from these guys but I’m just going to chose two of them, for the time being anyhow.

1st on our list, but in no particular order is:
The Ministry of Funny Walks

Now you’ve got to love the absolute sillyness of both these skits because if you don’t you probably won’t enjoy either of them, so just let yourself go and bask in the greatness of Monty Python

The second Clip is:
The Parrot Skit

Right I’ve come to my senses and I’m going to include another Python skit,
and no it’s not the Spanish inquisition, it’s not even from the Flying Circus series. Still wondering? It’s probably, no, possible, no; with little doubt, no, it’s actually the best live act skit I’ve ever watched:

It’s the:
Four Yorkshiremen

The absolute audacity of this skit and the timing they all possess to make this work live on stage is nothing short of a miracle.

OK I promise this will be the last Monty Python skit I put in. I’ve got to say it’s the most worthy out of the lot and is the most laugh out loud funny skit in a movie I’ve ever watched!

Yes it’s the:
Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail

To stick with the British theme we’re going onto another show that was mentioned in our rant review section not so long back. Yes, you’ve probably not guessed it or bothered to go back through the archives to find it so I’ll just tell you

Its:
The Office and Ricky Gervais Charity Dance

The moment everyone remembers from the office, the most cringe worthy and funniest two minute section from the show ever! Enjoy

Right Well That’s enough funny for today look out next week for some more of the funniest Skits EVER!!

EDD:Hey guess I found a short from Mondo Media entitled Larkmart. This seriously reminds me of a certain annoying person but I'm not saying any names Larry.

LARRY : Very funny EDD. Just where do you get your material from?
EDD: YOUR MUM.
LARRY: Oh yeah really mature!

The animation process can seem daunting but the results in the end seem to be worth the trouble.
If you seen the upcoming HBO Series The Ricky Gervais Show produced at W!LDBRAIN  or seen some clips you can appreciate the effort that goes into creating the animated comedy. The New York Times recently published an in-depth deconstruction of the animation process behind the show.

LARRY: Yeah I checked that out. Ricky wanted his character to look like Fred Flintstone.
EDD: Erm in case these guys didn't make it clear where to see it. The link is below. Jheeze do I have to everything around here?

One important aspect you might over look when you come to actually writing your script is the Layout. By this I mean the way you space out your words, how you define the difference of an action note to a camera shot or a musical number you want to put in. Unfortunately you can't just write something on notepad without the proper layout and send it in to some producers and expect them to read it, it's got to look a little more professional.

LARRY: I'd like to think I know a thing or two about layout

EDD: You don't even know the layout of your hand let only how to set out a script

Don't get me wrong you can use notepad or word to write a script but then you have to make sure you layout the script in a professional, consistent manner which is very time consuming, I know this because I spent countless months doing it. The preferred option is to get professional writing software which will come pre-programmed with script layouts and many other tools ideal for when you write your script. We use Final Draft which is available to buy for around £100, i know it's expensive but for ease of use it's worth it.

EDD:

LARRY:

To help you guys out I’ll put a little skit below which we devised a while ago just to give you an idea of how to layout your script

EXT. JESUS ON THE CROSS. DAY

A group of ROMAN SOlLDIERS are standing beside JESUS on the Cross. Drums banging in regimental beat. They are huddle together mumbling, laughing to each other

ROMAN SOILDERS
No you tell him, I'm not saying it, what? OK I'll say it

The huddle of ROMAN SOlLDIERS disburse and stand in a line looking at JESUS, one of the ROMAN SOlLDIERS steps forward

ROMAN SOILDER 1
Hey Jesus who you hanging around for

The Group of ROMAN SOlLDIERS try to hold back their laughter but to no avail

Ok, as you can see the Scene heading is in all Caps and is in bold, there is also a three lined spaces until the next potion of script is written. The action section is written with normal font, the music section that is included in the action section has been placed in italics. All character names in the action note section have also been typed in Caps. Now we have a two lined space before a Character name is displayed in Caps. Then directly underneath that we have the dialogue, both the character name and dialogue appear in the middle of the page. This Layout carries on until the end of the Skit.

EDD: That skits alright but it doesn't meet my high standards

LARRY: It's a shame you don't have that same high standards with the girls you pick up, ooohh that girl you had last night was Ugly!

This was just an example skit and has recently been changed into Caption comedy, like the style you find in a newspaper i.e. Dilbert. If you want to check it out in its new format it should be arriving on the home page some time soon.

LOL Spells Surprise

Did I shock you?No. Well that is one of the biggest things that jokes are based upon. When told the grapple with your logic, twist it and take full example of a confusion of language. A contradiction is what you precieve to be as truth or saying something so offensive that the audience will cringe at the thought, gasp, file a complaint but roll with laughter.

LARRY: The Two Ronnies did that with their Fork Handles Comedy Sketch.
EDD: Yeah I see what you mean.

Take note that the opposite can be true. Some comedians do things that are completely predictable with jokes they are already familiar with but surprise is alwasy an essential in jokes before experimenting. Edd, Larry would you be so kind as to help me demonstrate a classic joke?

EDD: Sure. Alright Larry. Get the ball rolling.
LARRY: My dog has no nose.
EDD: How does he smell?
LARRY: Terrible!

Can you see what just happened?
Larry told us about his dog and the absence of its nose. Now Edd, we assume, wants to know how a dog without a nose can sniff things out. That is what they do with most their time. However, Larry our funny fellow believes that Edd is asking about the hygiene and answers. For a second we scratch our head in confusion, then the light bulb goes off. They you have LOL.

EDD: Fair observation but how will you know if the joke is funny?

To be honest the only way you will be able to find out is by testing it. Even the greatest professionals are never sure until people LOL. So the best thing for you is to try them out on people and gage their reactions.

LARRY: I've been working on a little something. KNOCK KNOCK.
EDD: You can just stay outside till you get some better material.
LARRY:Ahh come on Edd, lemme in. You'll laugh your socks off...Edd....Edd?...OI!

The English language is so complex sometimes. Misinterpretation can happen with the slightest skew of pronunciation. This is a great comedy device that can lead to rolls of laughter. If placed well with props the comedy can be seen as great because your using a crucial tool in comedic writing. The unexpected. Your friends misguided articulation can be a massive source for your jokes.

EDD: Ha. Larry I think they are talking about you and your slurred speech.
LARRY: Me. oh no. My English skills are perfected!
EDD: You mean pathetic!
LARRY: Ahh. I see what you did there. They kind of sound the same, good one. Shame I'm not laughing.
EDD: LOL. Don't worry pal don't be ashamed. Not being understood is great for comic relief check this clip by the comic duo The Two Ronnies entitled - Fork Handles.

OK well lets solve this age old problem, what the hell is better South Park or Family Guy???

These two American master pieces have both been around for a long time now but people still argue over which is better. Well Were going to put a stop to that once and for all, Hopefully...

Just encase someone reading this doesn't know what either show is then we recommend that stop living your life, sit down, unplug your phone, watch a combined 21 seasons of brilliant and outrageous Comedy.

EDD: Right lets get to the point I must of watched all of the episodes of both shows more times than Amy Winehouse has gone to rehab. South Park is BETTER than family guy

LARRY: lol, right so that's the discussion over then because the man with the IQ of a pea said so. Firstly let me say that Family Guy is the show that the majority like more and the majority are never wrong

EDD: Is that the same majority that put George Bush in office twice? Let me say South Park has been running for 13 seasons and paved the way for shows like Family guy to come out

LARRY: Makes no difference who was out first it's just about what the shows have done and Family guy is the funniest show I've ever seen; check out the cool whip skit

EDD: That's nothing, check out south parks they took our jobs

EDD: We need to start to rate the shows if we going to determine which is better

LARRY: Yeah I hear that, I say that they should be rated on Originality, Outrageousness, Memorable Characters, Quotable lines, Recognition

EDD: Sounds about as good as Jedward but what the hell I'll go along with it. South Park is the definition of originality, no other animation based show was anywhere near as daring, outrageous, offensive and as funny as South Park. They pushed the boat out and and set the way for new on the edge comedies

LARRY: Blah blah blah, lets get down to it, South Park may have overtaken The Simpson's, but Family Guy has overtaken everyone! The show literally has a laugh a minute, forget conventional storylines this was the first show about the funny and getting to it as quickly as possible and it was as outrageous and on edge as anything.

EDD: The fact is there would be no family guy on TV if it wasn't for South Park pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable to be shown and said on TV!

LARRY: Keep your panties on Nancy, you know what you can have that point if it really means that much to you, coz I know that we got the next 4 in the bag

Look out for the next post where Edd and Larry will continue blabbing about which show they think is better and which one is the King Of Animation Comedy, remember if you have any comments on which you think is the better show we don't really care! Until next time cya.

EDD and LARRY are not the most interactive when it comes to the females. They'd rather spend time on the internet. playing some sport or have a X-Box controller in their hands.

LARRY: Woah Woah Woah. Let's get this straight  Valentines day is for suckers who fall into that whole commercialised holiday antics that suck the true meaning out of times like Christmas where it's about giving...up the shit you don't want.

EDD: You know what you nearly sounded like you was making some sense until your brain kicked in but I agree with you there. Valentines day isn't what it's all made out to be.

LARRY: This clip below from Tyree Dillihay based on his new online comic entitled Sn’eads really shows what valentines day is like for me.

EDD: Well I don't know about myself but I have lost faith in Cupid. College Humor's Mike Parker hit the nail on the head with this short entitled Cupid is Out of Work.

What EDD and LARRY are trying to say is that neither of them could get a girlfriend and yet just someone to be their Valentines. Chin up boys you have a whole year to make up for it.

EDD + LARRY: Shullup

Welcome to a new running post that will look at how British TV programs compare to TV programs over in America. We will try to pair up shows the best we can and then debate over which program is better and then we'll tally up the scores at the end and see which Country has the best TV Programs.

The first program that we'll compare is infact the same show, yep it's the multi award winning The office.

EDD: For you guys who don't know about The Office where have you been? Maybe you was in a hole with Sadam... Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's master piece was of course sold to American TV some Years ago now but what we need to know is who's version is the best?

LARRY: USA, USA, USA! This one's as clear cut as George Bush's stupidity; The Office in America is still running and is currently in it's 6th season! Where as the UK version only ran for 14 episodes including specials

EDD: Hang on now just because it's been going on for longer doesn't mean it's better, as your ex say's it's not about quantity Larry it's all about the quality that's why I'm leaving

LARRY: Ooohh! below the belt. This is a fact: The office USA gets consistent high viewer ratings week in week out and has done for 6 seasons. If Ricky Gervias kept on running the Office would they still have high ratings, well we'll never know so that's a point to the USA, whoooa!

EDD: Fine you can have that. But the UK has a Banker here single funniest moment from both The Office's... Well that easily goes to the UK for Ricky Gervais dance

LARRY: lol yeah that was so funny. Well scores are tied here so far

EDD: Not for long/

LARRY: Yeah your right about that, Office USA has an all-star cast that includes many Hollywood stars that have gone onto appear in many big films that where a success such as 40 Year old Virgin, Transformers, Hangover and many others. Where as if you discount Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant none of the other cast really went onto do anything as notable.

EDD: Maybe you do have a cast of big stars but the UK has the most important thing for a TV program! Originality! America just bought our great Idea!

LARRY: Looks like it's harder to separate these two than it was for the banks to stop losing money

EDD: I would call it a tie but I can't have that just like Britney Spears can't have being sane! That's why I'm going to break down the Originality point. First of The Office UK has the Creators of the UK and USA versions, Secondly the Creators wrote the Office UK, third they produce the Office USA and finally they're comedy Geniuses. Game set and match the UK wins

LARRY: Well we fought as good a battle as Ricky Hatton did against Manny Pacquiao, but in the end a great show lost to a superb show that will go down as one of the UK best ever.

LARRY: Hey all, while EDD isn't here I want to show you the resolution of the Happy Winter Friends  saga. The Baman and Piderman series created by Alex Butera and Lindsay Small can be seen below. We see the moving tree and Tuba's dad. If you don't have a clue watch below and see if it tickles your funny bone. In fact I'll put both so you get the story. If EDD ask you haven't seen me.

Enjoy...

Hope you enjoyed it. More of the Animated Shorts can be seen on the Mondo Mini Show Site.
Got to go I think I can here that "know-it-all" comi- Heeeyyy EDD what's up I was just thinking of you man. Looking good you been going gym?

LARRY: Nothing, stop being so paranoid you go to relax. - SEE YA!

"Your Name Sir?"

LARRY: You know when I flick on the television surf the channels I usually find that I can put my board up when I hit the show House. Doctor House reminds me of a certain person I know that never thinks they are wrong and every word they say is right. House played by British Actor Hugh Laurie seems to carry the character and the American accent well I would never of guessed him to be in a Sketch.
EDD: Well can play many roles and did you ever think that he might be a jolly fellow and not think that the character he plays is who he really is. You see Hugh Laurie performed many sketches with Stephen Fry, this is just one of many of the Stephen and Fry series. Even performed on the Blackadder where they gained much prominence.
LARRY: (mimicking in a childish voice)
Did you ever think that...blah blah. What ever. All I have to say that this made me laugh.
EDD: Simple minds are easily amused!
LARRY: We'll then try not to laugh yourself to death while watching. No in fact chuckle away, buddy.

EDD : First off let me say the obvious MAG is NOT as good as MW2. But in saying that MAG is a very good game and if the COD series wasn't around everyone would probable be playing MAG as it does have some awesome features.

LARRY: Woah Woah Woah. Easy on there my friend. Now all the years of experience I've had with games I know a thing or too about consouls.

EDD : You mean Consoles!

LARRY : I mean shutup and let me finish. While you were out I played a bit on both the games erm.. wait erm..

EDD: Call of-

LARRY: MAG and Call of Duty Modern Warfare..2. Got to say MW2 is better.

EDD: Better? That's what you interrupted my review to say?

LARRY : Well. Hell yeah.
MAG has to many issues, try n' kill someone when they were moving from side to side it's crazy hard.
Trying get some killing spree going on and the guys doing the Cha Cha slide.
There aint no hardcore mode! How can I get excited if it aint hardcore.

EDD: Your a twisted guy, you know that!

LARRY: What's twisted is that it takes sooo many bullets to kill someone. It litterally feel like I'm a Storm Trooper trying to shoot flipping Luke Skywalker. The guys right there yet my bullets are just passing him by.

EDD:Get this, in MAG you can play an online game with 256 players now that's a war! Maybe it does take more bullets to kill someone but get your teammate to help you take him out, it's all about teamwork in MAG not one super player

LARRY: Oh and let him take my kill too?! How about if I just wanted to play single player mode. I just press X then go down to...oh wait that isn't even available.

EDD: No one plays single player anymore so you don't need it. Besides why not go online and take control and lead your own army of real players into war on 1 of 10 massive maps. You can even customize your character so they can look as ridiculous and sound as stupid as you do!

LARRY: Ha Ha in my most sarcastic voice possible

EDD: People of the real world if your reading this then the game may grab your attention but as much as I have stood up for this games good points you'll eventually find yourself drifting back to the all mighty Call of Duty

LARRY : You read that he agrees with me.

EDD : ... ¬_¬

Disney's Artist Mix and Blend more Colours.

You may ask, what does Barack Obama and Disney's Princess And The Frog have in common? Well you may not but I'm going to say anyway. 2009 saw a change in the world, the first black man elected as the president of the united states and 2010 follows swiftly with  the first black heroin in a Disney movie. Maybe it's not a great or significant as the Barack's story but you can't honestly say that Disney didn't have the right blend of colours to do it.

Disney's movies are colourful entertainment.

They have delve into their colour palettes and drawn up princesses of every colour and hair colour for that matter.
Snow White :WHITE
Cinderella :WHITE
Aurora :WHITE
Ariel :WHITE/FISH
Belle : WHITE
Jasmin : ARABIAN
Mulan :ORIENTAL
Pocahontas :NATIVE AMERICAN.
Tiana :....wait for it. BLACK
It's funny there was even a mermaid before Tiana too. The movie really touches down on Disney's classic like Lion King and Beauty and the Beast by creating the movie from hand drawn techniques. I guess 3D isn't always the way forward. The film is a sure for family entertainment even though the first black princess is a frog for most of the movie Martin Luther King himself would have had this in his pirate DVD collection.
Check below for a preview of the film and enjoy.

Steve done a good Job.

Man had the phone, Steve created the Iphone, man had a pad and Steve created the revolutionary Ipad. In fact I'm sure there was a pod (somewhere) and I guess you know what Steve created there.

The iPAD will change my life…yeah sure.
Well maybe I'm being a little harsh there I mean now I would be able to use the gadget to help with my task when I can't get hold of my portable laptop. Sometimes Laptops are heavy especially the 17 inches.
Being a guy I can relate so much with the state of the art new age technology that can only perform one task at a time, I'm holding my breath as I type at this very moment, wow the productivity is amazing.
You know maybe just looking at it from that point of view is a bit harsh, I mean when the wheel was created it looked pretty obsolete till we added it to a chassis to create the car. Speaking of cars, starting at around £500 and shooting up to £800 I guess it the giant size iPhone that can't make phone calls is affordable
Calabunga. You can surf the web on the iPad using apples browser software and watch videos on you tube. Now that's good to hear I mean I get to watch videos on the web…right? Well not exactly without the flash application 75 % of videos on the web are not available.
"With its crisp, vibrant display and unique software features, iPad is an extraordinary way to enjoy and share your photos. For example, the Photos app displays the photos in an album as though they were in a stack. Just tap the stack, and the whole album opens up. "
Wow so what part can I take the pictures with? Excuse me for a second there I thought you said there wasn't a camera…oh you did. So let me get this straight there are phones out there that dinosaurs have a contract on that take pictures and this space age gadget can't take pictures? Well it's okay I guess I got some pictures on a USB…pardon. Oh there's no USB Port.
Well I guess I know where there are going with this, it's all about the simplicity of doing one thing at a time and unable to newer things of this day and age. You can hook up a apple keyboard to it so it's like a erm…I forget what does things are called…laptops. To be real the Ipad will become revolutionary there just holding back on us I'm sure Ipad 2.0 will have a camera and who knows what's in store when Ipad 10.0 comes out with OS XII.

Cartoons are Criminals.

So where can you see the difference between the world in which we live in and the world we want to live in, well at least I would.
Well in the past some what odd couple of years ago, that may be an understatement, lived Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and some other guys who I didn't really pay attention to in class who figured out the world is governed by what we now know as physics. What goes up must come down except for your age of course and this is what divides the world of humans from the toons. The law of physics.

It's the Law
If you was to get run over truck slammed into a brick wall and impaled on a spike I doubt you would be able to get up brush the dust off your new pair jeans and walk off merrily - you would be dead!
During a live action film when the hero excepts being shot by the stray enemies bullets (like they always do) but ends up in a room filled with bombs which explode at that precise moment you have witness a tragedy. Those limbs aren't going to re-attach themselves, as an audience we know this and film some sympathy unless you have some dark, dark humour.
No notice I said humour in a the cartoon world this would be seen as funny. Events like this in the cartoon world are funny i kid you not. When a certain Coyote runs off a cliff and plunges thousands of feet and flattens upon impact because he was chasing some bird hyped up on speed (reminds me of certain friends of friends) we find this funny. We laugh and the more ridiculous it gets the more the laughter because hysterical, why? It's because it's human nature. We're in stitches because we know those cartoons won't die. The only thing to worry about is the animator getting a cramp in his hand and even still things are done by computers these days, mind you     I have known cases where excessive use of the laptop can lead to hand cramps.
Now this doesn't mean that the cartoons reactions to pain won't be perceived but we know their pain isn't real. A cartoon can handle that bomb exploding and return to their original shape.

No Law's, Cartoons are Innocent.
In the animated world, there are no laws for the cartoon characters to break. They can can be rolled up into balls and thrown down alleys, squashed flat like a bug and stretch like erm..stretch armstrong? The point is that perform physical acts known as cartoon feats that live action characters cannot with the except the live action isn't too far fetched. If i was to jump off a cliff and flap my arms hard, no matter how hard I tried I'm not going to fly but a cartoon can.

Examples

Cartoon Writers and Animators rely on defying these laws to create the humour and this makes animation unique from other forms writing medium.
